Start the new year off right by protecting your important pictures, videos, music and documents with a fresh backup. Google Drive and Dropbox are great examples of storing your files in the cloud or you can make a physical copy of your data to a USB flash drive or an external hard drive. For maintenance, we recommend taking a backup at least once per week. If you would like help, VirtualTech happily provides Data Backup Services.

Can a computer get damaged if it gets too cold?

Yes, taking a computer that has been in a cold temperature to a warmer temperature, can cause condensation within the computer, which can cause damage. 

To help prevent this situation from occurring, we suggest letting the computer remain off for a few minutes before turning it on.

When an application freezes on your computer, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Delete. This shortcut opens several options. Click the Task Manager where you can then select the unresponsive application and quit it.

IE Bug Report

Once in a while, we come across a quirky little bug that lives within a program. This Bug Report is to alert those using Internet Explorer as their browser. Be careful when downloading apps. This is what can happen: you think you are downloading the app of choice, but actually many toolbars and other apps may be bundled and downloading at the same time which makes Internet Explorer crash. There is usually a box that pops up with the option to uncheck these additional add on's.
